Social marketing & research opportunity: project to address school unauthorised absence in Stoke-on-Trent

Live contract opportunity

This project links to the Opportunity Area Delivery Plan target to to reduce school unauthorised absence rates in the city.

The successful bidder will:

  • provide greater understanding of the underlying reasons why pupils do not attend school, and insight into ways to address the underlying reasons;
  • identify effective practices adopted by schools in tackling unauthorised absence;
  • develop a citywide communications strategy for attendance supported by practical resources, materials and tools that can be used by schools and other stakeholders.

We see this project being in 2 phases:

Phase One: April 2019 – July 2019: research and development of a communication strategy for attendance. Phase Two: September 2019 to December 2019: delivery of agreed aspects of the communications strategy and evaluation of the strategy’s early impact.

Closing date: noon 29 March 2019. For more information contact Mary Bentley: mary.bentley@stoke.gov.uk and also access the council procurement portal here.
