Stoke-on-Trent Ceramic Challenge case-study

The Inspirational Learning Group delivered after school Enterprise Clubs in which young people worked on an enterprise challenge in teams linked to the ceramics industry including:

  • Royal Crown Derby Challenge – to design a new take on the traditional dinner set.
  • Wade Ceramics Challenge – to design a fragrance bottle aimed at the youth market.
  • British Ceramic Federation Challenge – to create a marketing campaign to get more young people interested in the ceramic industry.

The clubs included visiting speakers from the ceramics industry and each team had an opportunity to visit a ceramic based business. The project culminated in a celebration event taking place in March and July 2019 at the Victoria Hall.

Wave 1 – 10 schools Sept 18-March 19.  192 young people participating.

Wave 2 – 10 schools March  2019 – July 2019;  403 young people
